Our friend Spiffy Steve is moving on to bigger and better things. This weekend he had a going away party where he said goodbye to everyone and took one last shot with his Dad.
Maybe two shots with his Dad, or three.
For years before Spiff and I actually met in person I would hear stories about him all the time. People said he was a great cook, he got all the girls, and he was always up to something crazy. His life sounded like a movie to me. One night someone knocked on the door at the old theater Mike and I worked at. I came out and there was a guy there who looked at me and said "Gimme everything in your pockets or I'll stab you.. just kidding is Mike here?" Without an introduction I knew I had just met the infamous Spiffy Steve for the first time.
He's headed out of state for some survivor-like training so he can become an expert Chef. I really hope he reaches his goal of becoming a more badass version of Anthony Bourdain. Like "No Reservations" but with weed and girls. I dont know about you but if he made a show like that I'd watch every episode and buy every season on DVD.
See you soon Chef Spiffy.
