I'm finally starting to feel as if people are connecting with the Ham logo. I even saw some wannabes on instagram starting their own "ham" inspired clothing brand. (The ham is a registered trademark of La Pink One and if you ever make a dime I will sue you back to your Mom's house.)
I get asked about the ham logo all the time. It has nothing to do with Jay-Z and Kanye West's song although I gotta admit the timing makes that seem like a lie.
Hep asked me if the ham referred to people like Will Smith who ham things up by exaggerating to the point where they make themselves seem silly. That honestly seems like a more fitting description since I guess I do that sometimes.
The logo itself isnt just any regular piece of ham. Someone asked me if I got the picture from google images. I did not. I worked with Vanessa Maynard for a few months as she drafted up a bunch of different hams that I kept rejecting. The ham I chose has influences from Dr Seuss, Kaws, and The Simpsons. All of my favorite artists.
Aside from that, the ham is about controversy (since nations of people refuse to eat it), good taste (because its delicious) and being arbitrary. Look at other blogs and I bet you if you look hard enough their projects start looking really similar. Every time a trend comes up they tend to fall in line.
Not me, and since you're reading this I assume not you either.
