MUSIC MONDAY: I DON'T JUST LISTEN TO RAP

Happy Monday everyone. Yesterday I was whistling the chorus to call me maybe (don't laugh) and my girlfriend turned to me and said "You know that song? I thought you only knew rap songs."

So this Music Monday's for you Wendy. Because I love hip hop but I listen to other music too.

My sister Daisy will get a kick out of this one.

I used to think Das Racist was weird but then I saw them on "A Day in the Life" and now I like them.

THE HERMES TEE

I got a package today from my homie Manny (Owner of the Printing Shop "Monster Mash").

I got them to make me a Hermès tee.

Why not take something bougie and turn it into Streetwear? I asked Manny if he could make it happen and he was happy to help. I only asked for two shirts since there's no way we can sell these. One for me and one for Heppler (he's an effeminate millionaire who loves Streetwear and Hermès).

How awesome are these? (answer with either "very" or "extremely")

I didn't take the shirts out of the box because they look too good sitting in it. If you're the one person on earth who doesn't know what the Hermes logo looks like, google it.

TEENAGERS IN LOVE

This is Liam.

Liam and his mom both have the same tabby cat tattoo.

Liam's Korean thrift store shirt looks like something American Apparel would sell. (Korean Apparel maybe?)

Liam's brand Teenagers in Love has the best online lookbook I've ever seen,

and his tattoo of a figure from a fire hazard booklet is the coolest thing you've ever seen.

OLD SEVENTIES PORN FROM A CREATIVE GENIUS

Andre Ricciardi is the Creative Director at Mekanism. He's responsible for a slew of awesome ad campaigns and cool stuff like "Hot Chicks Picking Up Dog Sh*t." Also, he reads gentlemen's magazines from France. That's class.

Full on bush.

Andre had a bunch of grocery bags full of 70's porn sitting around and I had to take a peek. I wonder how many of the ladies in these magazines are grandmothers now. A ton of young grandma beaver sitting in these relics. Kinda weird in a cool way.

Bags on bags on bags... filled with vintage porn.

Classic.

THE INFAMOUS BAY OVERCAST

It's been pretty hot the past few days so today I came to the marina only to find out it was all windy and grey out here. The weather didn't stop me from having a good time watching the waves come in.

The clouds act as a cooling filter from the yellow sun so everything has a more natural color. All these rocks look like they're covered in toxic waste from a power plant.

I found a tennis ball.

My sister Daisy and I made a wish and tossed it into the Bay. I wished for a long Summer and she wished for pants.

INSTAMATIC

I put pictures on Instagram with my old iphone too. (jorgeayala)

I don't promote the use of Rob Heppler's drugs but that is a real $1,700 human skull in the background.

CHIN LU

Meet Chin Lu. She's a Digital Influence Coordinator over at Mekanism and today I had the pleasure of having lunch with her.

Chin's job description is filled with sexy sounding concepts and intimidating responsibilities but in plain english what she does is reach out to people who make a living off of being cool so they can promote for one of Mekanism's clients with their blogs or videos. I don't know who's cooler, the bloggers she chooses, or Chin for being able to decide which bloggers are influential and which bloggers are not.

Also, her outfit goes so well with the city. Chin dresses her butt off.

I asked Chin to pick a place for us to eat and she picked Darwin, a super hipster cafe the likes of which I didn't even know existed. I felt like I was walking onto the scene of an urban outfitters commercial when I walked in. If "style" was a person he/she would eat at Darwin everyday.

Why does the fact that this menu is written on butcher paper amuse me so much? (serious question)

Roast Beef like Darwin himself intended it to be.

Even when Chin's trying to relax and have some coffee she's checking emails and putting in work.

Social media's favorite animal. Cats.

TAKE A HIKE

When the brashness of the big city becomes overwhelming I like to slow things down with a hike.

I love California, where anyone can go from tall buildings to steep trails in less than half an hour.

If I was famous I could sell a bunch of prints of this.

PARRA "WEIRDED OUT" AT SFMOMA

I don't need to explain why this is cool, do I?

SAN FRANCISCO MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

On the road again, this time to the SFMOMA.

The SFMOMA's biggest exhibition right now is the "Photography in Mexico." I felt so proud looking at all the beautiful photography that's come out of the motherland.

These four pictures are my favorite by far. They're pictures of a wedding shot by Yvonne Venegas (Julieta Venegas twin sister). One day they'll have my pictures up here you'll see!

They had a camera that slowed everything down so you could look at your past self in the future in real time. I don't know if that makes any sense but it was cool and you should go look at it before it goes away.

Andy Warhol and I share the same birthday.

BUFF MONSTER AND THE MELTY MISFITS

I don't usually post unoriginal content (pictures I didn't take) on here but this is too cool to ignore. Buff Monster has a solo show opening on April 14th at Corey Helford where you'll be able to appreciate his art and buy these stickers for five dollars a pack.

If you're like me and you won't be in Culver City on the 14th don't worry. These will make it out to shops in the Bay Area soon thereafter.

I like Buff Monster, he likes the color pink and so do I.

THE MELT SAN FRANCISCO

I love watching the guy from Man vs Food abuse his stomach with the things he eats. After I saw him eat a grilled cheese with 10 pounds of cheese I realized two things: That guy is disgusting and grilled cheese spots are popping up all over the place.

It's just bread and cheese.

Overpriced PBR. It doesn't get any more hipster than that.

The Fountain. Look at that tap on the right, they have soda on tap.

They still make these?

That's a good looking storefront.

MUSIC MONDAY: EASTER EDITION

It's Easter and I'm too old to paint eggs with food dyes so I used some sharpies instead.

I know it's not monday but I decided to combine Music Monday and Easter by making Easter Egg versions of some rappers I like.

DOM KENNEDY (all capitals all the time)

A villain in your land, in his land a ruler. METAL FACE DOOM (also all caps all the time).

Officer Rick Ross! You can get a hard copy of his latest mixtape at the police station. It's awesome!

Enzo wants everyone to know that he helped.
