HOVERCAT

Mekanism made a video about a cat go viral. They did it to promote the ASPCA and the internet loved it. Thanks to them you don't have to watch Sarah McLachlan talk about how she was famous for two months right before she guilts you into adopting a beat up cat. You've seen Hovercat. You've seen Mekanism all over TV. If you are part of the questionable metrosexual community you've probably even seen Hovercat on Ryan Seacrest's blog. If you haven't, go see them now and then finish reading this post.

Did you watch them yet? Good. You recognize Jason Harris (Mekanism's CEO). He's the man behind the cat.

Remember this name: Ethan Indorf. He is a living legend. His work is amazing.

This is Tony Benna and his stuffed cat. He told me shooting Hovercat was pretty rough on him. I totally got where he was coming from, watching a cat jump up and down everyday for 3 months takes a toll on anyone.

CONSISTENCY

We all have rules for ourselves.

No one makes us follow them but we make an effort to follow these rules for the same reason people do anything else. Because they can. One of the rules I have for myself is that I must post something new on here everyday. Although some days are slow and I have to break that rule I try to stay consistent. I've learned that in this industry consistency is key.

To be successful in something you don't necessarily have to be the absolute best or the first. You must make an effort as often as possible and keep that effort consistent. That's how you achieve goals. So far I've been in the game for about two years now. I've met amazing people and have gotten farther than I ever could have imagined and I still think this is only the beginning. All of this is happening because I made an effort everyday and never stopped.

If you want advice from me I say stay consistent. Don't bust your ass one day a week and slack off the other six. Try a moderate amount all seven days and do that every week until you get somewhere. It seems like weird advice but it works. I promise in a year you'll be ahead of where you are today.

MUSIC MONDAY: AALIYAH

I always make jokes about dead celebrities (because they're funny) but I could never bring myself to disrespect the memory of Aaliyah in any way. She was an amazing artist and a beautiful woman. Rest in peace Aaliyah and thank you for your music.

I was at the store on friday and this song came on and its been stuck in my head ever since.

ART SUMMIT 25

The Bold Italic is the urban outfitters of art galleries and I was over there yesterday to help set things up for an art summit. What does that mean? We put some pictures up and I grammed a picture of the colorful wall across the street and challenged everyone to a fight. (Everyone punked out like I knew they would.)

The city that knows how to what?

Let's take a road trip to the Prada Marfa! You drive.

Daisy's the most honest person I've ever met.

We had Andy Warhol's Black Pumps in the building. Reminds me of my favorite Andy Warhol: Knives.

I've stopped drinking water unless it sparkles. My drinking water bill is insane.

Took me a whole 10 seconds to figure out what this said. It was a long day.

THE YELLOW ALBUM

I feel weird about posting music on a day other than Music Monday but I'm a pretty big Dom Kennedy fan so I had to show support for his latest project The Yellow Album. Download and listen if you haven't already!

FIRE WORK

I'm ready for the Fourth of July.

Mike's been partying for 65 days straight. You don't party like Mike. (Yes I have a chipmunk in my backyard.)

Miguel kept trying to convince us to let him blow up an M1000. I don't think he understands how those work.

FRUITMAN

It's not really summer out here until Chucho comes out.

He sells fruit, chips, and water bottles. That's hustle.

That's corn on the cob with mayo, mexican cheese and chili powder. It smells gross but it tastes great. Thanks Chucho.

HIPSTER SANDWICH

When you want a sandwich forget about your subways and head down to Sprout. If you can't get out here just find your nearest hipster sandwich establishment. You'll know its legit if the guy making your sandwich is wearing chef whites and the place sells Italian sodas.

When Wendy was 7 she went to Cambodia and the buddhist monks out there said she was the Golden Child. That makes sense since normal rules have never applied to her and she's amazing. They wouldn't let her or her family leave because of some buloni about how she needed to lead them to enlightenment or some nonsense like that.

I think those monks were onto something since she's had the "golden child" privilege of dating me for the past 3 years.

As long as food is pretty and cameras exist no one will ever get tired of taking pictures of their food, ever.

Wendy liked her sandwich.

Right next door we ran into Colette (Miss C) at American Apparel. Shows how cool I am for recognizing American Apparel's next top model.

Music is the most popular thing in the world and Monday is the longest day of the week. Sneak a beer at work or something.

IT'S ABOUT TIME

I really appreciate my readers and I mean that wholeheartedly. I feel like I don't do enough for you guys so I decided I'd get something made for you to take home and wear, so you can have a piece of La Pink One to call your own.

I'm proud to finally announce our Ham Logo Snapback. They're not for sale just yet but I couldn't keep this a secret any longer.

WESTSIDE WEDNESDAY (SO PLAYED OUT)

I was watching this video about a butcher and it made me really hungry. I paused it, walked down the street, bought a burger and then came back and finished the video. I don't think that makes me a monster it just makes me a hungry meat eating American.

Vice Magazine is one of the greatest pieces of reading material in the entire world.

Their content is amazing. This issue is over a year old and everything in it is still completely relevant. Look at any other magazine from a year ago and you'll probably see Lil B or someone else who fell off. (That was a diss)

See what I mean?

Yes, they're real shirts.

Forget Yeezy's and look at these. I was so fascinated that someone took the time to turn these shoes into slippers and then just abandoned them in this alley. Flabbergasting.

Brinks really doesn't want you to stop in front of their building.

Up until today I thought everything was art. Maybe not everything.

ROB AND TAMIE IN SAN FRANCISCO

My Mentor Rob Heppler and his girl Tamie Ingham were in the Bay Area this weekend.

Rob was rolling around in style, as always, in Mark Arcenal's Land Rover Defender. We couldn't find parking so Rob just backed up onto a hill and we bounced. Heppler's like the Honey Badger, he just does what he wants.

The Safari print on the sunroof made Rob look like a Leopard Man.

We were supposed to play kickball with the streetwear folks from SF but by the time we found parking it was too late. We greeted Josh from True, Rob took a few pictures, shook some hands, made jokes about Firebabies Firemen and all the kids that are dying over Yeezys and we left.

The streets were closed off so everyone could walk around Golden Gate Park without having to worry about getting hit by a car. For some reason everyone was still walking in the crosswalks that are painted on the asphalt. Why? There were no cars anywhere.

We stepped outside the lines and I took a picture of these two being rebels.

"Look how happy ice cream makes us!"

These are the same glasses Justin Bieber wore in his "Boyfriend" video. You can buy them when they become available to you this Christmas.

I wonder what the poor people were doing while these two were hanging out of the Defender looking powerful.

I made sure Rob autographed my favorite Hundreds hat. When he dies this thing will be worth a fortune. I will use the money to buy myself a Land Rover Defender.

It was really great meeting you Tamie. See you two next time! Hope you enjoyed staying in the Bay as much as I enjoy living here.

MUSIC MONDAY

Hit-Boy's journey to the top is crazy to me.

So is this video. It's Monday, the beginning of a new week, a fresh start. Let's all take some inspiration from Hit-Boy. Find your passion, take a chance on yourself and get to work. Don't do it for the expensive fluff, do it for the fact that one day you too could work amongst your idols and make a living doing what you love.

I WANNA LIVE FOREVER 2012

Last night The Peacock Lounge on Haight Street was the scene of Mekanism's "I Wanna Live Forever" party. Everyone dressed up as their favorite dead celebrity and got white boy wasted.

Best. Party. Ever.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vergas.

Andre the Giant and Macho Man Randy Savage.

Carl Sagan aka Liam from Teenagers in Love.

Charlie Chaplin Hitler and Andre Ricciardi went hard.

Amy Winehouse giving Mr Rogers the finger.

Chin as a young Liz Taylor. Fabulous.

This guy dressed up as Farrah Fawcett and he won the award for best costume. During his acceptance speech he thanked cancer for making his costume an option.

It's not a real party until somebody dies.
